Banasura Sagar Dam
Banasura dam is lying in the middle of Banasura Hills. Banasura Sagar Dam in Wayanad is the largest earthen dam in India and the second-largest in Asia. Kuruva island or kuruvadweep is a 950 acre spread of uninhabited island in the middle of Kabini River. Kuruva island is a home to rare species of birds and herbal plants etc. Kuruva island entry is restricted during the monsoon in wayanad (from June to September), in order to avoid any potential natural disasters.
